Documentary on Poverty affecting Obesity Synopsis
and Analysis
The documentary starts off with the
talking of obesity. They said that since people live in poor towns, that
affects what they eat and how that can affect them. People were explaining how
that their towns are poor; it’s hard to find a super market near them/in their
town. They would have to resort to unhealthy food like McDonalds and such. They
also didn’t get the opportunity to eat healthy because they were either very
stressed or too busy, and since they lived in a poor environment, they didn’t
have enough money in order buy healthy food so they stuck with cheap junk food.
Analysis on Documentary
I learned from that documentary that
a lot of towns are poor and that most of them don’t have what we have. It’s
amazing how people who own many Fast Food companies take advantage of poor
towns and cities. It differs what I learned in Ancient history because poverty
affected food and in Ancient History that wasn’t a problem (I’m pretty sure it
isn’t). I would recommend this Documentary to a friend because it shows how the
environment can change EVERYTHING, such as what type of food would be in that
town and how it can affect people. It also shows how poverty affects many
people and their health.
A
lot of things surprised me, how the government doesn’t even try to help out.
And also it surprised me how the mayor didn’t decide to do anything until the
interview. I felt like they did a good job presenting how they changed the
environment around them with healthy vendors, and fridges. I wish they just
made it a little bit more detailed. This helped me motivate me in contributing
my ideas and energy because it shows how anything could help the poor
especially good/healthy food.
